NAIROBI, Kenya October 19 – The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner officially launched Linda Mtaani, a new data protection champion aimed at making conversations around personal data simpler, more relatable, and accessible to everyday Kenyans.
The launch event brought together community members, with Data Protection Commissioner Immaculate Kassait, SC, MBS, officially unveiling Linda Mtaani and highlighting the importance of bringing data protection conversations closer to the people.
This event marked the beginning of a new chapter in advancing the data protection dialogue within the mtaa (community).

From the mtaa to the digital spaces we navigate every day, the message remains clear: protecting personal data is everyone’s responsibility.
From the information we share online to the details we provide when accessing services, data is an integral part of our everyday lives. Linda Mtaani is here to simplify data protection while reminding us that we all have a role to play in safeguarding our information and understanding our rights.
With Linda Mtaani, the conversation around data protection is taking a step closer to where it matters most: the mtaa.
